The Pittsburg Diamonds took the field in 1948 as part of the Class D Far West League, bringing hardball grit to the industrial town of Pittsburg, California. Though their time in the spotlight was short-lived, the Diamonds represented a golden era of small-town baseball, where the bleachers were wooden, the crowds were loud, and every game felt like the big leagues.
